The innovative Münster gases manufacturer Westfalen Group will be atending Medica in Düsseldorf from 16 to 19 November 2015, at Stand D 32 in Hall 11, where they will be presenting a wide range of medical and pharmaceutical products and speciality gases for therapy, diagnosis and laboratory applications in hospitals and medical practices.
Westfalen will be débuting its Corpadur® C product – carbon dioxide liquefied under pressure as a certified medical product – at the trade fair. Two variants cater for a range of applications: Corpadur® C endo for gaseous withdrawal and Corpadur® C cryo for liquid withdrawal.
Corpadur® C endo finds particular application in keyhole surgery, creating working space for surgical procedures. Uses of this medical product include insufflation therapy – for laparoscopies, colonoscopies and arthroscopies – and balneotherapy, in the preparation of carbonic-acid baths for improving blood circulation. Corpadur® C cryo can be used in entodontic diagnostics for testing the thermal sensitivity of teeth. Further fields of application are as cooling and cryo agents in cryotherapy, and in the operation of cold chambers and cooling units. Corpadur® C cryo can aid in cryopreservation during the temporary storage of cells and tissue.
A second focus is on Respadur® A, the finished medicinal product being used in the treatment of premature babies and for heart surgery in adults. Respadur® A is a compressed nitrogen gas mixture containing trace amounts of 400, 900 and 1000 parts per million (ppm) of nitrogen monoxide (NO).
Liquid helium, the operating medium for magnetic resonance tomography, is also offered by Westfalen Group together with the accessory transport containers, transfer lines and adapters. For clinical laboratory work the Münster company is presenting its range of speciality gases, which includes individually-produced and standardised test gases, used for example in blood gas analyses.
