The Westfalen Group, Münster, and the automotive supplier Hella, Lippstadt, have recently agreed to continue with their long-term collaboration. Westfalen has been supplying the manufacturer of lighting systems and vehicle electronics with industrial gases since 1996. The new contract provides for the Münster-based group to supply liquid nitrogen to two Hella sites in Lippstadt as well as additional sites in Recklinghausen, Hamm and, for the first time, in Bremen. The nitrogen will primarily be used in soldering furnaces.
"I am really pleased that we are able to continue with our successful collaboration," says Willi Mildner, Westfalen Group’s Gases Division Germany Sales Manager North/West, who managed the contract negotiation. "Hella’s and Westfalen's corporate cultures and philosophies harmonise perfectly," added Alexander Fritsch-Albert, Westfalen Group's Gases Division Germany Head of Sales, when signing the contract.
"The various collaborations between Hella and Westfalen have worked well for many years," emphasised Westfalen's Chief Sales Officer Reiner Ropohl. As well as liquid nitrogen, the Westfalen Group also supplies Hella with bottled argon, helium and other industrial gases and operates an on-site nitrogen production facility for Hella in Hamm.
Hella is a global, family-owned company listed on the stock exchange. They have approximately 32,000 employees in more than 100 locations across 35 countries. The Hella Group develops and manufactures lighting and electronic components and systems for the automotive industry, and also has one of the largest trade organisations within Europe for automotive parts, accessories, diagnosis and services. Complete vehicle modules, air-conditioning systems and vehicle electrical systems are produced by joint venture companies. In addition, with sales of around 5.8 billion euros in the fiscal year 2014/2015, the Hella Group is one of the top 40 automotive parts suppliers in the world and one of the 100 largest German industrial companies.
