Personnel changes at Westfalen AG

Münster. Westfalen AG's Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Meike Schäffler and Torsten Jagdt to the company's Board of Directors. On 1 July 2016 Dr. Schäffler will take on the newly created board-level position responsible for Human Resources & Central Services, IT and Production, Engineering Technology and Depots (PIT). Torsten Jagdt will succeed Dr. Carsten Wilken as Chief Financial Officer, who will retire from serving Westfalen AG at the end of the year.

Dr. Meike Schäffler (44) has worked in various management positions within IT, Human Resources and production units for the Benteler-Group in Paderborn, which operate in the steel pipe production, automotive engineering and commerce sectors. From 2010 to 2011 the mathematics graduate was the Managing Director of Benteler Deutschland GmbH. In 2012 she was appointed Managing Director of Benteler Steel/Tube with 4,000 employees. In this role she was responsible for the welded tube plants in Germany, Switzerland and China as well as for personnel and IT.

Economics graduate Torsten Jagdt (46) has years of international experience in finance, accounting and controlling. He has worked for companies such as automotive suppliers Continental and MAHLE and he was CFO for Modine Europe GmbH, part of the US group Modine Manufacturing Corporation. Most recently he was commercial manager at TROX GmbH in Neukirchen-Vluyn. This family company with 3,700 employees and 30 subsidiaries across five continents is a global leader in the manufacture of ventilation and air conditioning systems.

After 16 years Westfalen AG's outgoing Chief Financial Officer Dr. Carsten Wilken is resigning, by choice, from his position on the board as part of the gradual generation change. He leaves on amicable terms by the end of 2016. He will work closely with the newly appointed colleague Torsten Jagdt over the coming months to ensure a smooth handover.

The Supervisory Board, the shareholders and the entire Board of Directors would like to thank Dr. Wilken expressly for his great commitment and service to the company. Dr. Wilken plans to pursue activities outside of the Westfalen Group, but will keep close ties with the company.
